Fun in Sin City without Visiting a Las Vegas Casino

Posted on August 15, 2014

You scrimped and saved all year for your vacation and blowing all of your money at a Las Vegas Casino would really put a damper on things. There are a ton of fun things to do in Vegas that will keep you safely away from the casinos. Here are a few of our favorites to get you started.

Check out the Las Vegas art scene

There is an entire district in Vegas dedicated to the arts and artists. Located in downtown Las Vegas, 18b has art galleries, museums, classes, restaurants and cool shopping.

Ride the VooDoo Zip Line

You go to a Las Vegas casino for the thrill, the sheer adrenaline rush of knowing that at any moment you could make your fortune or lose your rent money. You’ll get the same thrill of imminent danger riding the VooDoo Zip Line. You’ll get a stupendous view of the Vegas Strip when you’re flying 400 feet above it.

Take in a show

You’re in Vegas so you have to see a show, that’s just the law of the land. There are a lot of fun shows to choose from. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the options just see a big name show like The Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil or Britney Spears.

Relax at a Vegas pool

Finding a fancy pool and renting a cabana for the day is a much different experience than taking a quick dip in the La Quinta pool before checkout. If relaxing and sangrias aren’t your thing you can visit a novelty pool. The Golden Nugget Shark Tank has a water slide that is essentially a clear tube suspended in a shark tank. Or you could attend a Vegas pool party. Some of the most epic parties in Vegas happen at pools.

Shop at Bonanza Gifts

Letting loose in a gift shop is the most underrated pleasure in life and Bonanza Gifts, the world’s largest gift shop, has enough tacky souvineers and gag gifts to keep you entertained for hours. The gifts are really cheap so you can take those few pennies the Las Vegas casino left you with and get your mom a bedazzled Vegas tennis visor.

Eat at a Celebrity Chef owned restaurant

Celebrity chefs flock to Vegas to be warlocks and wizards of fine dining. If fine dining isn’t your scene there are some incredible food trucks in vegas.
