Stars flock to New Orleans for Super Bowl

This year’s Super Bowl was not without some excitement. The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers turned out to have quite the game, not to mention Beyonce’s killer halftime show and a 30-minute delay due to a power outage. Since it is America’s biggest sporting event of the year, celebrities flocked to New Orleans from all over to see these two teams fight for the Lombardi trophy.

Katharine McPhee and Nina Dobrev were both spotted inside of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. McPhee showed her appreciation for the 49ers with a baseball cap, whereas Dobrev was jumping for joy to witness the Ravens win in a 34-31 victory, according to the Daily Mail. Also in attendance was Stacy Keibler, a former Ravens cheerleader, who was decked out in purple to support her team. Hayden Panettiere took a picture of herself wearing a San Francisco jersey to show where her loyalty lies.

Since there were a slew of celebrities in New Orleans for the game, they naturally decided to party all weekend long in the Big Easy. On Saturday night, Lil Wayne performed at the iconic Elms Mansion, which is surrounded by lovely gardens and patios, and is considered one of the most desired places to see in New Orleans.  According to People magazine, Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shevell were also at the mansion, as they listened to Lil Wayne’s performance.

Also in New Orleans was Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Faris and Jeremy Piven, who all went to the Playboy’s Super Bowl Party. Later on, the Audi Forum kept the music going. More A-listers arrived including Sofia Vergara, Jeremy Renner, Chace Crawford, Josh Hutcherson, Ashley Greene and Aaron Paul, the media outlet reports.

Those who are thinking about traveling to New Orleans can stay at luxurious hotels that some celebrities have stayed in the past. The Royal Sonesta Hotel is included in this luxury list, as this grand hotel in the French Quarter is right on the legendary Bourbon Street. The establishment is steps away from the many sights and attractions in the Big Easy. The Maison Dupuy is another beautiful hotel that offers guests a mix of luxury as well as history. Those who are looking for a more romantic scene can check out the beautiful Le Richelieu Hotel, which is in the quiet part of the French Quarter.Â
